Deck Lighting

Thoughtfully designed lighting extends the use of your deck beyond daylight hours while enhancing safety, atmosphere, and architectural detail. We install TimberTech® low-voltage deck lighting, designed to integrate seamlessly into deck surfaces, stairs, and railings for a clean, cohesive look.

Lighting is planned as part of the overall deck design to ensure fixtures feel intentional and balanced—not added as an afterthought.

Installation & Power

  • All wiring is fully concealed within the deck, stair, and railing structure for a clean, finished appearance

  • Fixtures are installed flush and aligned with surrounding deck details

  • Lighting layouts are planned to enhance visibility while minimizing glare

  • All components are installed according to TimberTech installation guidelines to ensure long-term performance and reliability

Power & Transformers

  • All lighting operates on low-voltage systems

  • Unless a homeowner already has a compatible existing transformer from a previous deck lighting system, a transformer is included with every lighting package

  • Homeowners may choose between:

    • Standard transformer: Automatically turns lights on at dusk with a built-in timer controlling run time

    • Dimmable transformer with remote: Automatic dusk activation, built-in timer, adjustable brightness, and remote control

  • Both transformer options:

    • Plug into a standard exterior 3-prong outlet

    • Are rated for outdoor use

    • Are installed in discreet, accessible locations

Lighting & Design Tiers

Lighting can be added to any deck, and premium-tier projects often include a coordinated lighting package designed to complement the decking, stairs, and railings. These packages serve as a starting point, but homeowners can adjust fixtures, placement, and transformer options to suit their preferences, budget, or how they plan to use the space.
